WHY DO WE DO BYX?

  1. Most Christian men become believers before the age of 21, but it is in college where men decide how they will live the rest of their lives.
  2. 60% of college men who profess Christ walk away from their faith in college.
  3. Men want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
  4. Women desire and need men who are strong in their faith.
  5. We want to be there to offer Christian men in college an alternative to the present fraternal lifestyle.

HOW DO WE DO BYX?

  • Pledging
The goals of pledeship are for the member to serve the pledges, and for the pledges to prove themselves worthy of serving and dwelling in community with the active members. Weekly pledge meetings offer opportunity to learn the intricacies and heart behind BYX, as well as providing time to connect with other members of the pledge class and membership on a personal, spiritual level.

  • Membership
Each of our members is a professing Christian and exhibits a willingness to serve Jesus Christ. Though we are not perfect, we strive to develop brotherhood and unity among our active members, equipping them for post-graduate life and furthering their individual walk with God.

  • Cell Groups
Cell groups are weekly small group meetings of 4 to 6 men. The purpose of the groups is to hold one another accountable in spiritual discipline and fellowship. We consider these groups to be the engine fueling our fraternity’s purpose of providing brotherhood and unity based on Christ-centered relationships.

  • Leadership
We have regional officer training retreats every November to introduce new officer bodies to the responsibilities, structure, and vision of Brothers Under Christ at the national level.

  • Retreats
Each semester, every chapter has a full retreat for all of its members. The focus of the retreat is to get away from the normal campus atmosphere and surroundings to enjoy a time of brotherhood, worship, and community in a relaxing environment.

  • Chapter Meetings
Each week the entire chapter gathers for prayer, worship, a short testimony or challenging Bible message from a member, and announcements pertaining to fraternity business.

  • Parties
Our parties are designed to be a fun, uplifting environment for all attending. They range from formals, themed date parties, open parties, mixers, tailgate parties, and date dashes. They are entirely free of alcohol.

  • Annual Summit
Every February all chapters gather together for a weekend conference put on by the BYX national staff and Board of Directors. Summit is a chance for all members nationwide to worship, learn, and fellowship together through activities, breakout sessions, and ministry opportunities. This weekend also serves as the time for national staff and board members to communicate personally with the fraternity body as a whole.
